Kansas City is ready for polo, and our goal is to make it easier than ever for new players to discover this sport and get started.
Polo is one of those sports you can only truly understand once you experience it, watching from the sidelines or holding a mallet for the first time.
Whether you're a sports enthusiast, horseman, thrill seeker, or simply looking for something different, polo is ready for you.
Kids and adults discover a lifelong passion for the sport every day. You don't need riding or horse experience, you just need to come out and give it a try.
Our school is dedicated to teaching people the fundamentals of horsemanship, laying the foundation for horse and rider to enjoy this sport together.
Polo horses undergo years of training are accustomed to the flow of the game, calm under pressure and provide a solid platform to hit the ball.
While playing fast is possible once you’re experienced, you don’t start there. Hitting the ball at a walk, a trot or a canter is a fun way to develop your skills.

Polo is played all over the world and is the oldest team sport in history.
Players skills are evaluated then receive a handicap between -2 and 10 (goals). -2 goal players being beginners, 10 goal players being the best in the world. The average American handicap is 2 goals, while there are typically fewer than ten 10 goal players worldwide at any given moment.
The field is 9 times the size of an American Football Field.
We have around 300 polo clubs in the US. The highest competition levels are in FL, NY, CT and CA.
The highest level of the sport is played in Argentina. Most top professional players and horses hail from Argentina.
Polo is played co-ed with two teams of 4 players in 4-6 periods of play called “chukkers”.
“Stick & Ball” is the most enjoyable way to improve your polo skills (riding around the field on your own or with a friend hitting the ball).
While the saddles we use are English, The horses are neck reined like a western horse, the riding is more free and instinctive. Polo is unique in that you can ride multiple horses in a game, and riding is not under the scrutiny of a panel of judges, good horsemanship is key to achieve the objective of the game.
Understanding the rules of polo is key to staying safe on the field, all rules are designed to keep the horses and riders safe, once you have mastery of the rules you can level up in competition.
Horses who play polo enjoy the sport as much as you do. They’ll follow the ball and anticipate the moves.
Spectators of public matches sit field side and can enjoy a lovely picnic. You will feel the pounding of hooves on the ground and enjoy an afternoon with friends and family all in your fun and relaxed Sunday’s best.
